00 we will pick you up from your hotel in Hue downtown to Dong Ha to meet up with local guide
30 arrive at Dong Ha, head West along Highway 9 to visit Route 9 National Cemetery where more than 10.000 NVA soldiers rest in peace labeled as ‘unknown soldier’. Next stop are the Rockpile – the American observation post for Communist infiltration and Ho Chi Minh trail – strategic supply route of North Vietnamese for Vietcong. Last stop in the morning is Khe Sanh Combat Base – US Marine base holds the longest single battle of Tet offensive which is compared to ‘Dien Bien Phu for American’
00 go back to Dong Ha for lunch. You will have Banh Cuon (rice paper roll with pork and vegetable) for your lunch.
00 go to 17th parallel where Freedom bridge crosses Ben Hai river, the former border between North and South. Then turn right toward the ocean to visit Vinh Moc tunnel – a real testament for Vietnamese determination of fighting against America.
00 go back to your hotel in Hue
